A radical act of generosity breaks the spirit of poverty

Give_puzzle_piecesMany of us live with a spirit of poverty.  I can go through Christmas with a “Scrooge” mentality – a spirit of poverty.   Yet, it is not about being physically poor (in poverty), it is an attitude.  You can be very rich and still have a spirit of poverty.

A radical act of generosity breaks this spirit.

Generosity is a visual thing.  When one person sees another being generous there is a greater probability that they too will be generous.  It has a “domino effect”.

Spontaneous giving breaks something in us.  So how about a bit of spontaneity this Christmas?

Check out the links below for some random acts of kindness that have hit the news channels recently to get your juices flowing.

About katehobbs

Mother to two who are now independant and living away from home. Wife to Steve, for the last 26yrs and looking forward to many more years. I have enjoyed 18 months in the Okanagan, something that I have longed to have the opportunity to do for a while. Living a dream, you could say. Now, I am interning with Living Waters Canada based in Vancouver until end of April 2013. I love to grow my own food - it tastes so much better. I also build up, train and encourage others to achieve more than they thought possible.
